Designing on a steep Berea slope is about working with the hill, not fighting it. 279 on Montpelier cascades down the ridge in a rhythm of stepped, modular volumes—pairing raw off-shutter concrete with warm vertical timber screens. By stepping each home down the slope, every unit gets its own private terrace, secure under-croft parking, and an uninterrupted panorama over the Durban city skyline.
